St. Johnsbury Flooding Update: 5:44pm 7/11/24
The Town of St. Johnsbury's Operations Center was closed on 07/11/2024 at 5:44pm.
Road closures of 3pm today include:
- Severance Hill at Mud Hollow Road
- Goss Hollow at Ski Tow Road
- Houghton Hill from Rabbit Plain Road to Houghton Hill Bridge
- Intersection of Concord St. and Gilman Ave.
- West Hill Road at Lawrence Hill Road
- VTRANS closed Memorial Drive- St. John St. to Pierce Road
- Hospital Drive from NVRH to I91 is open
The Red Cross opened a shelter at the St. Johnsbury Town School at 3:15pm on July 11, 2024. We anticipate opening this shelter For more information regarding Red Cross please contact 1-800-RED-CROSS.

Household Hazardous Waste Days 2026 Collection Events The Town of St. Johnsbury partners with the Town of Burke to offer four Household Hazardous Waste Days. See below for dates and information. St. Johnsbury: Saturday, May 16th and Saturday, September 26th. Burke: Saturday, July 18th, and Saturday, October 17th. All events will be open from 8:30-9 for CEGs* and 9-1 for St.J and Burke residents. *CEGs are Conditionally Exempt small Quantity Generators. These are businesses that generate ~220 pounds of HHW or less per month and generate 2.2 pounds or less of acutely hazardous waste per month.
